Rayagada: A tribal man was beaten to death and the body burnt on Friday by a group of people suspecting him of practising witchcraft at Badapukal village in Tikiri police station of Rayagada district. The victim identified as Rasi Majhi was staying at the nearby Panabandh village after being opposed to by the villagers.

"The accused attacked him when he had gone to the village. Later, they burnt the body," IIC, Tikiri police station, Upendra Sahu said. A case had been registered against 10 people. No one was arrested as all the accused had fled the village, he said.
