Man injured in firing at Cuttack

Cuttack: Two unidentified assailants fired several rounds of bullets at a man at 8.30 am on Friday at Matia Mangala square in Jobra.

The man who sustained bullet injuries has been identified as Amiya Ranjan Behera. Though he escaped narrowly, bullets hit below his left underarm. Later he was admitted into SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack.

“While Behera was standing at Matia Mangala square, three rounds of bullets were fired at him,” eyewitnesses said.

Suspected to be a case of past rivalry, in the mean time, police officials at Malgodam police station have taken up the case and started investigation.
