New Delhi: An alleged illegal arms supplier, said to be an associate of illicit arms manufacturer Richhpal Singh from Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested, police said on Monday.

"Arms supplier Kalu Singh, an associate of old time illicit arms manufacturer Richhpal Singh Sikligar of Pachori, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested from Shantivan Ring Road bus stand on specific inputs on Sunday last," Addl CP, Crime Branch, Ravindra Yadav said.

Police recovered 10 sophisticated pistols and magazines from his possession, Yadav said.

Singh had alighted from a bus near Shantivan bus stand at 6 PM, after which a trap was immediately laid around bus stand in Darya Ganj, he said.

"At around 6 PM, three buses came from Raj Ghat side and one person of medium build and carrying a plastic bag in his right hand deboarded from one of them and started waiting for someone at the bus stand shed. He was identified as Kalu," he said.

During interrogation, he said he was resident of Buhranpur in Madhya Pradesh and had been associated with notorious arms manufacturer and supplier Richhpal Singh since 2006.

He also said the recovered pistols were given to him by Richpal to deliver to someone in Delhi, who was to come at the Shantivan bus stand.

He said prior to this, he had supplied many consignments in Agra and one consignment in New Delhi for which Richhpal had paid him Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000.
