Bhubaneswar: Amid COVID restrictions, India observes the auspicious festival of Mahashivratri with full religious fervour.
Devotees are thronging different famous Shiva shrines like Viswanath temple in Varanasi, Lingaraj and Loknath temple in Odisha, Jharkhandi Mahadev temple in Gorakhpur with strict COVID protocol.
Dhabaleswar temple and Akhandalmani temple from Odisha have been restricted for devotees as section 144 has been imposed to check the increasing COVID counts. While Triambakeswar temple is closed for devotees due to state lockdown.
Most state governments have imposed strict COVID restrictions in the states for the holy festival of Mahashivratri and provided police protection outside the temples to control law and order.
