Have you ever stopped to think about the shape of your face? No, not in the mirror while you're trying to figure out which haircut will flatter you the most.  It turns out, the shape of your face can reveal some interesting information about you. Your hairstyles solely depend upon your face shape.

First off, let's define the different face shapes. There are six main categories: oval, round, square, diamond, triangle, and oblong.

If you have an oval face shape, congratulations! You have the most balanced and symmetrical face shape, which is considered ideal in many cultures. People with oval faces are often considered to be intelligent, creative, and adaptable. The oval face shape has a jaw that is narrower than the cheekbones and is longer than it is wide.

But if you have a round face shape, don't worry. This face shape is often associated with a cheerful and friendly personality. People with round faces are often considered to be approachable and sociable. A wide hairline and fullness below the cheekbones are characteristic features of the round face shape.

Square face shapes are strong and angular, giving off an air of confidence and determination. People with square faces are often considered to be leaders and are known for their decisiveness. Straight lines should be avoided with this face shape.

Diamond face shapes are unique and often considered the most striking. People with diamond faces are often considered to be independent and confident, with a magnetic presence. The face with a diamond shape is the least common of all face shapes. Wide cheekbones, a narrow chin, and a narrow forehead are common features of this face.

Triangle face shapes are often considered the most dramatic, with a wide forehead and a sharp, pointed chin. People with triangle faces are often considered to be passionate and emotional. The forehead of a triangle face is narrower than that of any other face shape.

And finally, oblong face shapes are long and narrow, giving off an air of sophistication and elegance. People with oblong faces are often considered to be refined and graceful. The width of your forehead, cheeks, and jawline is roughly equal, and your chin has a slight curvature.

But of course, these are just generalisations and not hard and fast rules. The shape of your face does not dictate your personality or abilities. It's just an interesting tidbit to keep in mind next time you're trying to figure out what face shape you have.

So the next time someone asks you about the shape of your face, you can impress them with your newfound knowledge. And if they give you any flack for it, just remind them that it's not the shape of the face that matters, it's the person inside.
