UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025 timetable released; check full schedule here

The UPSC has released the 2025 Civil Services Mains timetable, starting August 22 with the Essay paper and ending August 31. The exam will fill 979 vacancies, including reserved quotas for various disabilities.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the timetable for the Civil Services Mains Examination, 2025.

Exam Dates and Schedule

As per the schedule, the Mains exam will commence on August 22 (Friday) with the Essay paper and conclude on August 31 with the Optional Subject (Paper 2). The exams will be conducted in two sessions each day – the first session from 9 am to 12 pm and the second from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Total Vacancies and Reserved Quota

This year, UPSC is conducting the Civil Services Examination (CSE) to fill 979 vacancies, including 38 vacancies for candidates under the Benchmark Disability category, 12 for candidates with blindness or low vision, 7 for those who are deaf or hard of hearing, 10 for candidates with locomotor disabilities, and 9 for those with multiple disabilities ( including deaf-blindness).

Prelims Conducted in May, Results Declared in June

The UPSC CSE Preliminary examination was held on May 25, 2025. It comprised two objective-type papers (MCQs), each of two hours’ duration and carrying a maximum of 200 marks. The result of the Preliminary examination was declared in June.

Final Stage After Mains

Following the written Mains examination, the Commission will conduct the Interview/Personality Test round before announcing the final results.
