The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Odisha which is inviting online applications for the recruitment of 11,403 initial appointee teachers in government-run high schools across the State has issued a formal notification enhancing the upper age limit of applicants to 38 years from 32 years.
As per the corrigendum issued by the DSE dated January 23, applicants till the age of 38 years will now able to apply for the teacher posts. The move is expected to benefit many teaching job aspirants who had earlier crossed the upper age limit of 32 years.
As per the revised guidelines, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above 38 years of age as on January 1, 2021 to be eligible to apply for the posts.
In addition to relaxation of six years, candidates of different social and special categories will enjoy relaxation as per government norms. While SC/ST/SEBC/Women candidates will be given 5 years relaxation, Persons with Disabilities candidates will get relaxation by 10 years, the DSE notice said.
The Directorate has clarified that a candidate who comes under more than one category (Social or Special), he/she will be eligible for only one age relaxation benefit, which shall be considered most beneficial to him/her.
PWD candidates will be entitled to cumulative age relaxation of 10 years over and above the normal age relaxation specified in sub rule -3(a) and (b) of the Odisha Civil Services (Fixation of Upper age limit) Rules, 1989 as amended from time to time.
The online registration for the recruitment is now live on the official website of DSE, Odisha (www.dseodisha.in) and will continue till January 31, 2022. The online examination will tentatively be conducted in the first week of March, 2022.
The DSE, Odisha, through the recruitment drive, will fill up 3308 posts of TGT Arts, 2370 posts of TGT Science (PCM), 1544 posts of TGT Science (CBZ), 1753 posts of Hindi Teacher, 1188 posts of Sanskrit Teacher, 22 posts of Telugu Teacher and 1218 posts of Physical Education Teacher.
