The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which conducted the Constable (General Duty) examination from February 4 to February 25, is expected to declare the results this week.
However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the precise date of announcement. Once declared, candidates can access their results on the official website: ssc.gov.in.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 53,690 vacancies across several forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and the post of Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Application Timeline and Selection Process
SSC had issued a notification for this Open Competitive Examination on September 9, 2024. Online applications were accepted until October 14, with the final date for fee submission being October 15.
The recruitment process includes a Computer Based Examination (CBE), followed by a Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a Medical Examination, and Document Verification. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their merit in the CBT, according to their state, area, and category.
This year, the CBE was conducted in 13 regional languages, apart from English and Hindi.
Previous Year Trends
In 2024, the SSC GD examination was held from February 20 to March 30, and the physical tests between September 23 and November 9. Results were announced on December 14.
In 2023, exams took place from January 10 to February 13, with CBE results declared on April 8. A total of 3,70,998 candidates were shortlisted for PET and PST, with the final results released on June 30.
In 2022, around 47 lakh candidates appeared for 26,146 vacancies. The results were announced on August 20.
Scoring System and Pay Matrix
The final marks will be based solely on the Computer-Based Examination. Each correct answer carries 2 marks, with a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response. Shortlisted candidates must undergo document verification before joining their respective departments.
According to the SSC pay matrix, the post of Sepoy in NCB offers a pay scale of Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900. For other posts, the pay level is 3, with a salary range of Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.
