The State Bank of India (SBI) has commenced the application process for the recruitment of Circle Based Officers (CBO). A total of 2,964 posts are up for grabs under this drive, with the last date to apply set for May 29, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through SBI’s official website, link - sbi.co.in.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Circle Based Officer posts, candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government, including an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD). Those with professional qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, or Cost Accountant are also eligible.

Additionally, candidates applying for vacancies in a specific Circle must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding at least one of the designated local languages corresponding to that Circle.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on April 30, 2025. This means candidates should have been born not earlier than May 1, 1995, and not later than April 30, 2004 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process

The selection process comprises an Online Test, followed by Screening and Interview. The Online Test includes an Objective section worth 120 marks and a Descriptive Test carrying 50 marks. 

The Objective Test will span two hours and cover four sections with separate time allotments. The Descriptive Test will be held immediately after the Objective Test and will last for 30 minutes. It will assess the candidate’s English Language skills through Letter Writing and Essay Writing.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 750 for candidates from General, EWS, and OBC categories. However, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from paying any fee. 

Payments can be made online using a debit card, credit card, or Internet banking, and any transaction charges incurred will be borne by the applicant.
