The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has released an advertisement for recruitment of sportspersons from various disciplines against sports quota for the year 2021-22.
Eligible sportspersons who are Indian nationals can apply for as many as 21 vacancies. The closing date for submission of offline applications is February 7, 2022 (6 pm). For residents of Andaman, Nicobar & Lakshadweep, the last date is February 21, 2022.
Eligibility Norms:
Applicant should be currently an active player having sports achievements in championships conducted under the aegis of recognised International/National/State Sports Federations and also recognised by the Railway Sports Promotion Board.
Salary (Pay Level and Grade Pay):
The grade pay is Rs 2800 for Level-5 posts while it is Rs 2400 for Level-4) and GP Rs 2000 and GP Rs 1900 respectively for Level-2 and Level-3 posts.
Educational Qualification:
A degree or equivalent from a recognised university for GP Rs 2800 (Level-5) posts, 12th (+2) or equivalent for GP Rs 2400 (Level-4) posts, and matriculation for GP Rs 2000 and GP Rs 1900 (Level-2 & Level-3) posts.
Age Limits:
Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years of age as on 01.07.2022. No age relaxation is allowed even for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Reservation:
There is no such reservation for SC/ST/OBC communities. The candidates having the required performance in the particular sports discipline will be selected on the basis of overall merit secured irrespective of their communities.

Candidates can download the application form from East Coast Railway website www.eastcoastrail.indianrailways.gov.in and submit the applications with other documents. The applications should be sent by ordinary/registered/speed post to the Dy. Chief personnel Officer (HQ), 2 nd Floor, South Block, Rail Sadan, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, Odisha – 751017.
Alternatively, candidates can drop their applications directly in the Drop Box placed at the office premises of Principal Chief Personnel Officer, 2nd Floor, South Block, Rail Sadan, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, Odisha – 751017.
Application Fee:
Candidates should submit application fee of Rs 500 in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order from any Nationalized Bank, or crossed Indian Postal Order from any Post Office (issued on or after the date of this notification) drawn in favour of “Principal Financial Adviser, East Coast Railway, payable at Bhubaneswar”. The fee is Rs 250 for reserved category candidates.
Selection Procedure:
Selection will be based upon performance in sports trials and sports achievements.
