The Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), a prestigious Maharatna Enterprise under the Government of India, is actively seeking applications for the role of Engineer Trainee via GATE 2023.

Commencing from October 20, the registration window is now open. Eligible and enthusiastic candidates have until November 10, 2023, to submit their applications.

Total Vacancy: 184 posts

  • Engineer Trainee (Electrical): 144 posts

  • Engineer Trainee (Civil): 28 posts

  • Engineer Trainee (Electronics): 6 posts

  • Engineer Trainee (Computer Science): 6 posts

Educational Qualification

Candidates are required to possess a full-time degree in BE/BTech/BSc (Engineering) from a recognized University/Institute.

Age Limit

Candidates must not surpass 28 years of age as of November 10, 2023.

Age Relaxation

Candidates applying for these positions can benefit from age limit relaxations as follows: OBC (NCL) candidates are granted a 3-year relaxation for posts reserved for their category, while SC/ST candidates and PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates receive a 5-year relaxation for relevant posts. PwBD candidates also have the option of an extended relaxation of 10 years beyond their category-specific relaxation. The upper age limit relaxation for Ex-Servicemen (Ex-SM), Dependent Ex-Servicemen (DEx-SM), and victims of riots is in accordance with the directives provided by the Government of India.

Selection Process

The Selection Process consists of normalized marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023, Behavioural Assessment, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Package

The selected candidates will receive a compensation package during the one-year training period, which includes a pay scale of Rs 40,000 with a 3% annual increment, reaching up to Rs 1,40,000 (IDA). 
Additionally, they will be entitled to a Basic Pay of Rs 40,000 along with benefits such as IDA, House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Perks, calculated at 12% of the basic pay during the training period.
