The Odisha government has created as many as 11,292 posts of Nursing Officers in the Health and Family Welfare department, an official statement said on Friday.
As per the government, the new posts have been created in order to augment the technical manpower and improve the healthcare services in place. The newly-created posts will be filled by the government in a phased-manner.
"To augment the technical manpower and provide better healthcare services, State Government has created 11,292 posts of Nursing Officers in Odisha. Decision was taken to fill up the newly created posts in phases," the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department tweeted.
The government statement further mentioned that out of the total newly-created posts of Nursing Officers, 7413 will be filled up in the first phase. The Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) will be entrusted with the recruitment drive.
"Accordingly, Government has issued a direction to the Director, Nursing for filing of requisition with Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission for recruitment of 7413 numbers of Nursing Officers against the newly created posts," the I&PR department added.
Presently, the OSSSC is carrying out the recruitment drive to fill up 4070 number of District Cadre posts of Nursing Officer in all 30 District establishments and 13 Medical College and Hospitals under Health and Family Welfare Department.
