Internet Governance Internship
The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) on Saturday announced the launch of its Internet Governance Internship and Capacity Building Scheme.
As per official sources, the program aims to build awareness and develop expertise in internet governance (IG) among Indian citizens.
This internship program will help the candidates constantly engage in global Internet Governance processes like the ICANN, APNIC, APTLD, Universal Acceptance (UA), IGF, SANOG, IETF, IEEE etc.
NIXI aims towards nurturing a pool of domestic talent, who can deep dive and engage themselves on emerging IG issues.
Set up on 19th June 2003, the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) is a not-for-profit (Section 8) company under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
Eligibility
Candidates from all regions and sectors are welcome to apply to the NIXI Internship Program.
Age
Indian nationals, who are not employed full-time and have educational qualifications as below are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must be pursuing or have completed a degree in B.E./ B.Tech, M.Tech./PhD. in Electronics and Communication or any related field, or a degree in Public Policy.
The applicant must have a good academic record.
Duration and Stipend
The internship program will be conducted over a period of six months- January/February to June/July.
Each term offers 10 internship opportunities. Under the scheme, all the interns will have to be compulsorily present in the office.
A consolidated stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month (regular offline internship) will be provided to the intern.
The selected applicant should be available to commit to a full-time internship for a duration of 6 months/3 months.
