The Indian Navy has released an official notification inviting online applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as Sailors in the Senior Secondary Recruits (Medical) branch, under batches 02/2025 and 02/2026. Candidates can apply online at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. The last date for online application is Apr 10, 2025. The correction window is valid from Apr 14 to Apr 16, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a board recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks and at least 40% marks in each subject are required.
Those appearing in the Class 12 board examinations for the academic year 2024–25 may also apply, provided they fulfil all other eligibility conditions and produce the original mark sheet during later stages of recruitment. Internet copies of mark sheets will not be accepted.
Age Limit
For SSR (Medical) 02/2025 batch: Candidates should be born between 01 September 2004 and 29 February 2008.
For SSR (Medical) 02/2026 batch: Candidates should be born between 01 July 2005 and 31 December 2008.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will comprise two stages. Stage I, the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), will be held in May 2025. Based on INET scores, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II of the SSR (Medical) batches 02/2025 and 02/2026.

INET Examination Details
The INET will be a computer-based test comprising 100 objective-type questions worth one mark each. The paper will cover four sections: English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness, based on the 10+2 syllabus. The examination will last for one hour.
Candidates must pass in each section and in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to decide the minimum qualifying marks. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Examination centres will be allocated at the discretion of the Indian Navy.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable examination fee of Rs 550 plus 18% GST through net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI.
