The Indian Navy has issued a call for applications for Short Service Commission Officers to join the June 2024 course. 

Those who are interested can submit their applications online via the official Indian Navy website at joinindianavy.gov.in. 

The registration procedure commenced on October 7 and is scheduled to conclude on October 29, 2023.

Total Vacancy: 224 posts

  • General Service {GS(X)/ Hydro Cadre}: 40 posts

  • Air Traffic Controller (ATC): 8 posts

  • Naval Air Operations Officer (erstwhile Observer): 18 posts

  • Pilot: 20 posts

  • Logistics: 20 posts

  • Education: 18 posts

  • Engineering Branch {General Service (GS)}: 30 posts

  • Electrical Branch {General Service (GS)}: 50 posts

  • Naval Constructor: 20 posts

Educational Qualification

For being eligible to apply, candidates must have passed BE/BTech in relevant discipline from recognised University/Institute.

Age Limit

The age limit varies from posts to posts, candidates must check the official notification for more details about the eligibility criteria.

Tenure of Commission

Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by maximum for 4 years in 2 terms (2 years + 2 years) subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of candidates.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on the normalisation of marks achieved in their qualifying degree. The specific normalization formulae as detailed on the Join Indian Navy website will be applied to the candidates' degree marks.
Shortlisted individuals will receive notifications regarding their selection for the SSB interview via email or SMS, using the contact information they provided in their application forms.
