The Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) has opened online applications for direct recruitment to the post of Scientist ‘B’ across various establishments under the Ministry of Defence.
A total of 148 vacancies have been declared for graduate engineers and postgraduates in Science, including those who have appeared for their final semester examinations.
Scientist ‘B’ in DRDO: 127 vacancies
Scientist/Engineer ‘B’ in ADA: 09 vacancies
Encadred Posts of Scientist ‘B’: 12 vacancies
Eligible candidates must apply online via the RAC website: https://rac.gov.in. Registration on the portal is mandatory for all applicants.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications in relevant fields: B.Tech/ B.E., M.A., or M.Sc.
Age Limit
The upper age limit for applicants varies by category. Candidates belonging to the Unreserved (UR) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories must be 35 years or below.
Those from the OBC (Non-creamy layer) category are eligible up to 38 years, while applicants from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) can apply up to the age of 40 years.
Application Fee and Mode of Payment
Male candidates belonging to the General (UR), EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable fee of Rs 100, payable online only. No application fee is applicable for SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates and women.
Salary Structure
The posts are classified under Level-10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix, with a basic pay of Rs 56,100, Including HRA and other admissible allowances, the gross monthly emoluments are estimated to be around Rs 1,00,000 at current metro city rates.
