DEE Assam announces recruitment for Assistant Teacher posts in LP and UP schools; apply now

The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) Assam will commence the application process for Assistant Teacher positions in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools today, January 2. 

Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications through the official website at dee.assam.gov.in.

• Assistant Teacher, Science Teacher and Hindi Teacher of UP schools: 1750 vacancies.

• Assistant Teacher of LP schools: 3800 vacancies

Educational Qualification

To be eligible to apply, candidates must have passed class 10th/class 12th/Diploma/Degree in relevant discipline from University or Institute recognized by UGC.

Age Limit

Applicants should ensure that they meet the age criteria specified for the Assistant Teacher positions. The minimum age for candidates is 18 years, while the maximum age varies for different categories: not exceeding 40 years for the unreserved category, 42 years for Ex-Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/MOBC, 45 years for SC/ST(P)/ST(H), and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD). These age limits are applicable as of 1st January 2023.

Pay Band

The remuneration for the Assistant Teacher positions falls under the Pay Band – 2 (PB-2), ranging from Rs 14,000 to Rs 70,000. Additionally, candidates will be entitled to receive Grade Pay and other allowances in accordance with "The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019."

• Any other mark-sheet and certificate of higher education

• DElEd/ BEd mark sheet (1st year & 2nd year) and certificate

• Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC)

• Document in support of Permanent Resident of Assam

• Certificate and mark sheet of ATET/CTET for UPS

• Certificates of disability issued by government authorities, if applicable

• Ex-servicemen certificate issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board
