The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced a recruitment drive to fill 1,121 vacancies for the post of Head Constable. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official BSF website at rectt.bsf.gov.in.
The online registration process will open on August 24, 2025, and will close on September 23, 2025.

Head Constable (Radio Operator – RO): 910 posts
Head Constable (Radio Mechanic – RM): 211 posts
Eligibility Conditions
Academic Qualifications
(a) HC (RO)
Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as regular students from a recognised board, university, or institution, securing at least 60% aggregate marks in these subjects.
Or
Passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board, along with a two-year ITI certificate in Radio and Television, Electronics Engineering, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Data Preparation and Computer Software, General Electronics Engineering, or Data Entry Operator from a recognised institute.
(b) HC (RM)
Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as regular students from a recognised board, university, or institution, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in these subjects.
Or
Passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board, with a two-year ITI certificate in Radio and Television, General Electronics, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Data Preparation and Computer Software, Electrician, Fitter, IT and Electronics System Maintenance, Communication Equipment Maintenance, Computer Hardware, Network Technician, Mechatronics, or Data Entry Operator from a recognised institute.
Age Limit
UR: 18–25 years (as on the closing date of application)
OBC: 18–28 years
SC/ST: 18–30 years
Relaxations in the upper age limit are applicable as per government rules.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will consist of:
Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Document Verification
The CBT will be held in both English and Hindi, comprising 100 multiple-choice questions of 2 marks each, with a duration of two hours. The exam will take place at selected centres on dates notified by BSF headquarters.
For HC (RO): Final merit will be calculated out of 250 marks (200 from CBT + 50 from Dictation Test), subject to qualifying in the paragraph reading test.
For HC (RM): Final merit will be based solely on the CBT marks (200).
Application Fee
Male candidates from UR, OBC, and EWS categories must pay Rs 100 per post. The fee can be paid through net banking, debit/credit card, or via authorised Common Service Centres.
Female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, BSF departmental candidates, and Compassionate Appointment categories are exempted from paying any application fee.
