Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued Advertisement No. 04/2025 inviting applications for 515 Artisan Grade IV posts across 11 manufacturing units in India. The vacancies span trades such as fitter, welder, turner, machinist, electrician, electronics mechanic, and foundryman.

The selection process will be through a Computer-Based Test tentatively scheduled for mid-September 2025. Candidates can apply only to one unit based on trade-wise vacancies, and must carefully choose their preferred location.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed Class 10 and hold both an ITI/NTC and a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade. General and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are required to have secured at least 60% marks in both ITI/NTC and NAC, while SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 55% in each.

Age Limit

The upper age limit as on July 1, 2025, is 27 years for General and EWS candidates, 30 years for OBC (NCL), and 32 years for SC/ST. Age relaxation for Persons with Disabilities and Ex-Servicemen will be applicable as per prevailing government norms. Additionally, candidates with relevant work experience in the prescribed format are eligible for up to 7 years of age relaxation.

Emoluments and Service Conditions

Selected candidates will be appointed as temporary employees for one year with consolidated wages. Upon successful completion, they will be regularised as Artisan Grade IV in the pay scale of Rs 29,500 – Rs 65,000, with applicable allowances.

Additionally, some positions are earmarked under Compassionate Grounds for dependents of deceased BHEL employees. If these remain unfilled, they will be included in the open selection.
