Puducherry: Janata Dal (United) has called upon the Centre to entrust the Central Bureau of Investigation with a probe into Puducherry Education Minister P M L Kalyanasundaram allegedly engaging a proxy to write a 10th standard supplementary examination last month.
K Arumugham, President of the Puducherry State unit of the JD (U), said in a release here today that Kalyanasundaram had "cast a slur" on the educational scenario in Puducherry and for the past one month the Department of Education was finding it difficult to take decisions on various issues. The cases registered against Kalyanasundaram by Tamil Nadu police were "very serious in nature" and a probe by CBI would enable expeditious enquiry, he said.
