Srinagar: Four persons were arrested after a special team of revenue and police officials seized 36 walnut trees illegally felled in Budgam district of central Kashmir, officials said today.

The accused -- Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Nabi Mir, Bashir Ahmad Mir and Ghulam Mohammad Dar -- were taken into custody following seizure of the trees from their possession on Tuesday. The team was constituted by the Badgam DM following reports that the trees were illegally cut down at village Garend Khurad, about 30 km from here, on Monday.
