Dubai, the capital of Emirate Dubai, is rightly called the Vegas of Middle East. A city with tourist-friendly active nightlife, high-rise buildings, and luxury hotels, Dubai is known for its riches, glitzy and innovative architecture and shopping malls.
In just 10-15 years, it has transformed into a major modern city and is home to several iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, 3 palm islands such as Palm Jumeira, Palm Jebel Ali, and Palm Deira, the best theme park, the famous Dubai zoo and the largest Free Zone in Jebel Ali.
Now, the city is expected to get a gigantic moon-shaped luxury resort ‘Moon Dubai’. A Canadian architectural company, Moon World Resorts (MWR), is all set to build an ultra-luxurious resort in Dubai, next to the Burj Khalifa.
The hotel is a replica of the lunar surface and will be 735 feet tall. The resort is designed to be built in 48 months and is believed to add to the emirate's economy in sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, attractions, education, technology, the environment, and space tourism.
There will be "Sky Villas" in the resort, which will be known as the private residence at moon. Approximately 300 units will be available for purchase, with sky villa owners being members of an exclusive private members club at the resort.
"Moon Dubai will be the largest and most successful modern-day tourism project within the entire MENA region, doubling annual tourism visitations to Dubai based on its global appeal, brand awareness, and unique multiple integrated offerings," Moon World Resorts' founders Sandra G Matthews and Michael R Henderson, said, adding, "It can comfortably accommodate 10 million annual visitors."
The resort will also house a spa, wellness section, a nightclub, event centre, global meeting place, lounge, and an in-house "moon shuttle". The hotel will accommodate a training platform for various space agencies and their respective astronauts as well.
The Moon resort will cost a staggering $5 billion to construct, with an annual revenue projection of $1.8 billion.
