Odisha-born scuba diver Priyadarshee Panigrahi has reached a significant milestone, completing his 75th dive at the renowned Madu Faru – Guraidhoo Corner dive site near Guraidhoo Island in the Maldives on 22nd March 2025. Currently based in Dubai, Panigrahi continues to explore the depths of the ocean, strengthening his passion for underwater adventure.

Descending to an impressive depth of 100 feet, Priyadarshee Panigrahi further cemented his reputation as one of Odisha’s most accomplished recreational divers. Alongside this milestone dive, he completed additional dives, bringing his total to 77. Notably, his scuba diving journey has seen him spend over 52 hours underwater.

Speaking to OTV, Priyadarshee expressed his eagerness to explore scuba diving in Odisha. He said, “I would be the first to dive if such spots come up.” He encouraged people to take up recreational diving, stating that it fosters a love for marine life and a commitment to conservation. While not highly lucrative, he sees diving as deeply fulfilling and a way to connect with nature.

Recalling memorable dives, Priyadarshee, who leads the MENA operations of a major Indian FMCG multinational, described witnessing a nurse shark scratching its back on the seabed and manta rays gliding past—both breathtaking experiences.

Priyadarshee On His 75th Dive:

Reflecting on his 75th dive, Priyadarshee expressed his excitement and gratitude: “Scuba diving has been an incredible journey for me. Every dive is a new adventure and magnificent marine organisms and beautiful corals drive my passion. This milestone in the Maldives will always be special as it was a really deep and challenging dive. We experienced underwater currents and navigated through them.”

He further said, “Diving has become an addiction and I find myself constantly drawn to new underwater experiences. In many ways, Tisya, my elder daughter has been a major inspiration in my journey. Watching her earn certifications with such ease and setting records at a young age pushed me to challenge myself.”

Future Plans:

Looking ahead, Priyadarshee Panigrahi aims to complete 100 dives, achieve deep dive certification (40 metres), and earn five specialist qualifications to become a Master Scuba Diver.
