In a horrifying incident on the south side of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a school shooting claimed the lives of at least three people and left 20 others injured. The shooting, which took place on Wednesday, has shocked the local community and drawn national attention.
According to a Justice Department official, the shooter is among the deceased. The attack occurred at the Annunciation Church, which also houses a grammar school, sending students, staff, and families into panic.
City authorities quickly reassured residents that there was no active threat. In a post on X, the City of Minneapolis stated:
“There is no active threat to the community at this time. The shooter is contained.”
Families Directed to Reunification Zone
In a follow-up update, officials announced that the families of children at the school should proceed to the reunification zone set up at the Annunciation School premises to meet their loved ones.
Trump and FBI Respond
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that he had been fully briefed about the situation. In a message on Truth Social, he wrote: “The FBI quickly responded and they are on the scene… Please join me in praying for everyone involved!”
FBI Director Kash Patel also released a statement on X, confirming that agents are actively working at the site.
“We ask everyone to keep potential victims, civilians, or law enforcement in harm’s way in your prayers,” he said, adding that updates will follow as the investigation unfolds.
