The Odisha Health and Family Welfare department has created as many as 11,006 new posts of nursing officers in the State Health department, an official statement said on Thursday.
"Following the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 11,006 new nursing officer posts have been created to make health services more efficient and functional in the State," the statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.

These posts will be filled up in district headquarters hospitals, community health centres (CHCs), maternal and child care centres and various medical colleges and hospitals in the State. The recruitment process will be completed in two phases, the CMO statement said.
These posts will be filled up under the Odisha Nursing Service - Rules 2019.
Out of the total new posts, 874 posts have been created in the district headquarters hospitals, 5400 posts in community health centres and 2659 posts in maternal and child treatment centres. A total of 8933 district-level posts have been created. In addition, 2073 posts have also been created in various medical colleges and hospitals in the State.
