Bhadrak: Exposing a worrying healthcare situation in the district amid the Covid pandemic crisis, a critical patient was seen carried on a trolley by his family members for nearly six kms last night.
The incident was reported from Chari Gharia Munda Sahi in Sadar police limits of Bhadrak. As per sources, one Jasmin Munda of the village was suddenly taken ill on Saturday night.
Her family members tried to contact 108 ambulance service as the patient’s health condition deteriorated. Despite multiple attempts, they failed to arrange any vehicle to transfer the woman to hospital.
With no option left and hours passing by, the family members carried the patient on a trolley with the help of neighbours. They cycled her all the way to Banta Chhak, a distance of nearly 6 kms before shifting her to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital.
Meanwhile, Bhadrak Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) has ordered a probe into the incident as to why no ambulance managed to reach out to the patient on time. The health condition of the patient is stated to be stable after treatment at the hospital.
