Berhampur: At least four persons were arrested while laying livewire to kill wild boars at Karjibanjar jungle in Ganjam district, police said.

The arrested persons belonged to Dakarabadi village.

Their plan to kill animals came to light when a person was electrocuted after coming in contact with livewires spread in the area. Another person who was injured was admitted to the Buguda hospital, police said.

Police claimed the arrested persons had confessed that they were laying the livewires for the poaching of wild boars.

Three days back the Kabisurya Nagar police had arrested at least three persons from Arjunapalli jungle, when they were on their way to hunt wild boar in the forest.
