Chennai: Four persons were today arrested for allegedly kidnapping a teenager for ransom and five country-made pistols and 43 bullets seized from them, police said.

The 17-year-old boy went out with his friends on February 26 and remained missing,Joint Commissioner (West) K Shankar said. The abductors had called up his father last night and demanded Rs one crore as ransom to release him.

The boy was freed after four persons - three of them natives of Uttar Pradesh - who were known to the teenager, were arrested in the wee hours today, police said.
