Koraput: A former general manager of Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO) was on Wednesday sentenced to one year imprisonment by a court in a disproportionate asset case.
Special vigilance judge A K Mishra at Jeypore while convicting D Sriram Murty, also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000.
According to special public prosecutor M Balaji Rao, vigilance raid was conducted at the office of Murty and his home at Koraput in 1995.
During investigation, vigilance sleuths had unearthed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income from Murty`s possession and a case was registered.
If unable to pay the fine the former IDCO official will undergo an additional rigorous imprisonment of three months, Rao said.
