Forest officials rescue Olive Ridley turtle

Rameswaram: Forest officials on Wednesday rescued a marine Olive Ridley turtle along with 107 eggs as it was found struggling to reach the nearby casurina jungles near the coast to hatch its eggs.

Offcials of the Central Marine research institute at Mandapam took away the eggs for hatching and let the turtle safely into the sea.

This is the season that Olive Ridley turtles come ashore to hatch eggs and carry all the new born turtles back into the sea safely.
