Thousands of devotees soaked in devotion thronged Srikhetra Puri on Wednesday to get a glimpse of the Holy Trinity Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra who have appeared in a rejuvenated and youthful vigour after coming out of the Anasara ghara (sick room). The ritual is famously known as Nabajouban Darshan of the deities.
The deities were under treatment for fever at Anasara Ghara after Snana Purnima (bathing) ritual on June 24. They have reappeared in their rejuvenated youthful form after recovering from fever on Nabajouban Darshan.
The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has come up with the timing for Trinity’s Nabajoubana Besha. As per the schedule, Paramanik darshan will be held from 8 to 9 am while general public darshan will be allowed from 9 am to 10:30 am, 2 pm to 3 pm and in the evening from 6 pm to 6:30 pm.
Public will be barred from darshan for some secret rituals which will continue from 10.30 am to 2pm, from 3pm to 6pm. 6.30pm and 9pm and 10 pm to 11.30pm.
Last night, the servitors completed the ‘Banakalagi’ ritual’. Among other rituals, ‘Chaka Apasar’ ritual began followed by ‘Mangal Alati’, ‘Abakash Niti’ and then the three deities will be placed on their throne for their Nabajouban Darshan ritual.
