As the sacred Anasara period is entering its final phase, Lord Jagannath and His Siblings are reported to be recovering, with significant rituals being observed on the occasion of Ekadashi at Puri Srimandir on Saturday.
Following days of seclusion and treatment symbolising divine rest, the tenth day of Anasara witnessed the ceremonial offering of Dashamula Modaka, a traditional herbal medicine prepared by the Raj Vaidya.
The ritual was performed by the Pati Mahapatra servitors, indicating that the Lord’s recovery is now underway.
As part of the Ekadashi observance, Lord Jagannath will be adorned with Tulsi garlands, vibrant floral decorations, and new clothes. Accompanied by the resonating sounds of bells and cymbals, elaborate puja and worship ceremonies will be conducted, maintaining strict adherence to temple tradition.
According to the temple sources, the formal announcement of the Lord’s health will be made to Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb on Dwadashi, the twelfth day of Anasara, in keeping with the age-old rituals.
Meanwhile, the preparations for the annual Rath Yatra have gathered momentum with the final stages of chariot construction underway. Artisans are working tirelessly to complete the three majestic chariots that will carry the deities during the world-famous festival.
