Karwa Chauth is celebrated by married Hindu women who observe fast from sunrise till moonrise for the long life, health, and prosperity of their husbands. During this ‘nirjala vrat’, women consume neither food nor water.
Married women observe a fast; put mehendi on their hands and dress up for the occasion. Later, they break the fast by looking at the moon and offering arghya at night.
