The historic Bali Yatra festival in Cuttack is scheduled to commence on November 5 and conclude on November 12, 2025, along the banks of the Mahanadi River, the district administration announced on Friday. This decision was finalized in a preparatory meeting chaired by the District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, with participation from senior officials and stakeholders.
Unlike previous editions, this year's festival will feature stalls exclusively on the lower ground near Gadagadia Ghat. The upper ground will remain free of commercial setups to ensure better crowd management and safety.
Authorities have emphasized adherence to safety protocols and organizational guidelines to facilitate a smooth and secure celebration.
“Bali Yatra will be organised on the lower ground. Previously, it was organised on 34 acres of land; however, this year it will be extended to 60 acres. Using both the ground for the celebration created a coordination issue. The Cuttack In Cuttack will highlight Odia Language and Literature,” the Collector informed.
“The cultural event will end at 11 pm instead of 10 pm. Two stages will be used for the performance of the celebrities. More than 50 buses will ply for the convinces of the visitors,” Shinde added.
