Holi, the festival of colors, remains one of the most vibrant and joyous celebrations across India. However, concerns over the harmful effects of synthetic colours have led to a growing shift toward herbal alternatives. Made from natural ingredients like turmeric, beetroot, and flower extracts, these eco-friendly colours are not only safe for the skin but also biodegradable.

Meanwhile, Holi celebrations at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela witnessed a unique twist this year as students ditched chemical colours in favour of a more natural approach.

Embracing eco-friendly traditions, they celebrated Holi with herbal colours and even took to mud pools for a distinctive celebration.

Instead of synthetic dyes, students smeared each other with natural hues and splashed around in muddy water, making the festival both safe and enjoyable.
