New Delhi: From yellowing postcards to photos blending Delhi`s imperial past and present to intricately designed handicrafts and delectable dishes, an exhibition showcasing all these began here today seeking to document the capital`s fall and meteoric rise over the centuries.

The exhibition, which showcases the cultural wealth of the capital through a series of photos and handicraft, has been organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation against the backdrop of Delhi`s centenary celebrations.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Delhi Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna said, "Delhi is currently at the crossroads of global cultural streams. The exhibition combines aesthetics with innovativeness and depicts the richness of Delhi`s culture".

"This unique exhibition celebrates Delhi`s rise as not only India`s capital, but its emergence as capital for culture, art, fashion and a hub of craft creativity. Our purpose is to show the real Delhi. The artists whose works are presented here are pioneers in their respective fields," said Neena Malhotra, President of FLO. A talk on `Delhi-Framing a Capital` by Rahaab Allana, Curator, Alkazi Foundation for the Arts, was also held.
