Post the fizzling out of the deep depression after hitting Myanmar, the southern Bay of Bengal will witness another low pressure area on and around April 6.
Moreover, when there is a severe heatwave forecast for Odisha in the first week of April, the comforting news for the denizens of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar is both cities are unlikely to witness any heatwave.
As per the multimodal ensemble (MME) forecast by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), the coastal region of the State will remain unscathed from the heatwave that will singe the western and central parts of Odisha till the third week of April.
The IITM MME shows a severe heatwave hitting western Odisha in the first week of April.
On April 7, as many as 12 districts in the State are predicted to record a maximum temperature of over 42 deg C. The districts are given below.

Fresh Low Pressure In Bay
As per the model predictions by NCEP-GFS, IMD, IITM-CGEPS, a low pressure area is likely to take shape in the southern Bay of Bengal on and around April 6 close to the Myanmar-Thailand coast in the southern Bay of Bengal.
While IMD predicts that the system is unlikely to intensify into depression or cyclonic storms, the NCEP-GFS model forecast shows the system as a low pressure area that will bring heavy rainfall to Andaman and Nicobar.
The NCEP forecast further hints at the system will again emerge as a well-marked low in the central Bay of Bengal. As of now, the prediction indicates that the system may bring heavy rainfall to the coastal states like north Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in the second week of April.
