As per leading met models, a cyclonic system will cross Thailand and merge into the Andaman seas around October 8. The system will develop into a low pressure area later.

Under the impact of the system, north Odisha and West Bengal may record very heavy rainfall between Oct 8-10 - during the sacred Durga Puja Festivities.

Cyclone Gulab has finally come up roses for Odisha.
