COVID19 Vaccination  Upshot: 1 Cr In Odisha Got 2 Shots But Slow Rate In 26 Dists

Despite a faster vaccination rate in Bhubaneswar, Khordha district lags behind the South Delhi district in the inoculation race. Infection rate in Cuttack is 0.01 percent, but fully vaccinated vis-a-vis the population is below 30 per cent.

From a total of 748 districts in India, only 3 districts - Khordha, Ganjam and Sambalpur figure in the top 200 districts in the country where at least 30 per cent of the population have been fully vaccinated.

The upshot for Odisha in its vaccination battle against the novel coronavirus is the State has today covered a massive over 1 crore adults with the two shots. But the overdrive has a long way to go as none of the districts has achieved the target of herd immunity via the vaccination.

As per the data available,  Khordha is the only district to vaccinate half of its population. A total of 53.73 percent of the population in the district has been fully vaccinated.  Ganjam is a distant second with full inoculation of only 37.3 percent of the population. Sambalpur finishes third with 30.3 percent of its population having administered the 2 shots.
