Kannada Film Industry's Rocking Star Yash got worldwide recognition with the monstrous box office success of the KGF series. Both the instalments of the KGF, written and helmed by Prashanth Neel scripted numerous records. While moviegoers are eagerly waiting for updates on KGF: Chapter 3, all eyes are on Yash's upcoming Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups. As per the last reports, Yash is teaming up with Nayanthara, Shruti Haasan, Kiara Advani and Huma Qureshi for the first time. Well, while fans are eagerly waiting for updates on Toxic, it has recently been learned that Toxic is going 'KGF way.'
Fans remember the story of KGF was set during the 1950s which detailed the events at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). According to an exclusive report by Hindustan Times, Toxic is being mounted on a big scale with targets of pan-India release and the movie is set between the 1950s and 1970s.

The report quoted a close source as saying, "The film is set between the 1950s and 1970s. An entire world of Toxic has been created — a larger-than-life version of that era, yet very authentic. The set is situated on the outskirts of Bangalore, and the level of detail is something that will blow the audience's mind."
Helmed by National Award-winning director Geethu Mohandas, Toxic is touted to be an action-packed movie, set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.
The makers have targeted to release the movie on April 10, 2025.
For the unversed, Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan was locked to play Yash's sister in Toxic, which would have marked her South debut as well. However, Bebo walked out of the movie and Nayanthara was roped in to play the character. Reportedly, Sai Pallavi was rumoured to play Yash's love interest in the movie. However, Shruti replaced her and will be seen romancing the KGF actor.
