Actor Shaad Randhawa has become a familiar face in filmmaker Mohit Suri’s movies, from Woh Lamhe and Awarapan to Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, and now in Saiyaara. He played an important role in the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Paada starrer.
He is seen as a musician, Prince. Now, fans often wonder why Suri consistently casts Randhawa in his projects. The answer lies in their deep-rooted friendship and professional chemistry.
In an earlier interview, Suri described Randhawa as his “lucky mascot” and “emotional anchor” on set. “Shaad isn’t in my films because of any compulsion or strategy. He’s there because he brings a sense of comfort and positive energy that lifts everyone around him,” Suri said.
Shaad Randhawa, who made his acting debut in Suri’s Woh Lamhe (2006), shares a similar sentiment. “Mohit and I go way back. Working with him doesn’t feel like work—it’s more like being part of a family,” he shared in a conversation with Bollywood Life.
The filmmaker also pointed out that Randhawa’s presence often helps in creating a relaxed atmosphere on set, translating into natural performances from the entire cast. “On films where Shaad isn’t around, I honestly miss him,” Suri admitted.
With each film, their creative partnership only seems to grow stronger. For Suri, Randhawa isn’t just another actor—he’s a confidant, a collaborator, and, as fans are beginning to call him, his cinematic good luck charm.
