After 12 long years of marriage, Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik are reportedly heading toward divorce. Rumours are rife that both Sania and Shoaib have decided to part ways and are staying separately for some time.
According to media reports, the cause of their separation is alleged to be Shoaib Malik’s extra-marital affair with Pakistani actress-model Ayesha Omar . However, the sports power couple has not responded to the rumours or issued any statements.
Amid Sania’s divorce rumours, discussions around her love life have resurfaced including her affair with Shahid Kapoor and netizens cannot stop discussing the once-rumoured couple.
Notably, Sania and Shahid’s relationship rumours sparked following her appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan’s Season 5. During the show Karan questioned Sania, "How come you have not been approached by any Hindi film boys?" She replied, "That this never happened to me." Karan asked, "There were some rumours about you and Shahid, were those true?"
Sania said, "I can't remember it was so long ago. It never happened as I travel so much," leading to a lot of speculations at the time.
Later during the rapid fire round, when she was asked who would she kill, marry and hook up between Shahid, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. She said that she would hook up with Ranveer, marry Ranbir and 'kill' Shahid, adding more fuel to their relationship rumours.
According to reports, Sania and Shahid broke up allegedly due to with Shahid's 'possessiveness'.
Later, Sania went on to tie the knot with Shoaib in 2010 and welcomed their son Izhaan in 2018. While Shahid got married to Mira Rajput in 2015 and they are blessed with two children- daughter Misha and son Zain.
