Abhishek said, “I’m being protective here of my wife, my beautiful wife. When she first came into the industry yes, she was Miss World, yes, she is still the most beautiful woman on earth. But that’s something that stuck with her. And there is no denying the fact. I think as an audience there is a lot of charm, beauty, and demeanour. But that should not take away her performance capabilities.”
The Ghoomar actor added, “They only say that she is only about good looks and she is plastic. But actually, if you go to see (now I’m not saying as a husband but as a co-star and an actor) she has done some daring kind of roles as an actor that could not have been done by someone known only for her beauty.”

Abhishek Bachchan went on to appreciate Aishwarya as an actor saying that she has been least vain about her looks. The actor further said, “She has done a Chokher Bali, a Raincoat, a Guru. She has done movies which do not focus on her beauty but which focus on her talent. But that’s never recognised or understood.” Abhishek recounted Aishwarya’s performance in the movie Raincoat which was not at all about her beauty and in which she was dressed shabbily with no makeup.
Junior Bachchan said that it needs a lot of guts to do such roles for a person who is known so much for her beauty. He even called the pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Jodhaa Akbar regal. But he also thought that people should go beyond their beauty and appreciate the efforts that the two of them put to make those roles memorable.
