Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan's son, Taimur Ali Khan is honing his cricket skills at the ICM Cricket Academy in London. The academy shared pictures of seven-year-old Taimur as he prepared to play and a video featuring Saif recounting his family's rich cricketing heritage.
In the video, Saif explains counties to Taimur, saying, "Counties are like clubs, such as Sussex and Worcestershire. Your great-grandfather played for Worcestershire, and your grandfather captained Sussex." Taimur listens attentively, and his coach, intrigued by Saif's insights, asks, "Is that right?" Saif confirms with a nod.
Another video shows Taimur attempting to bowl his father out with a yorker, which captured the attention of viewers online. One commented, "That was actually almost there!! Love this kid (sic)." Another wrote, "That wasn’t almost, that was perfect (sic)."
For the unversed, Saif's great-grandfather, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, captained the Indian cricket team in 1946 and played Test cricket for England in 1932 and 1934. His father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, known as Tiger Pataudi, also captained the Indian cricket team and married Bollywood actor Sharmila Tagore.
In another post by ICM Cricket Academy, Taimur is seen wearing cricket gear as his coach teaches him the proper way to hold a bat. Additional photos show him preparing to play.
Cricket passion runs in the family, as Saif's eldest son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, also enjoys the sport. Ibrahim has been frequently photographed playing cricket with friends. His grandmother, veteran actor Sharmila Tagore, mentioned on Kareena Kapoor’s talk show, “Ibrahim is the only one who looks like a Pataudi. He is quite tall and he loves cricket.”
Ibrahim is Saif's son from his first marriage to actor Amrita Singh. The couple divorced in 2004, and Saif later married Kareena Kapoor in 2012.
