In a landmark real estate transaction, veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra Kapoor and his family have sold a significant land parcel in Mumbai's Andheri area for a whopping Rs 855 crore. The buyer, NTT Global Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure India Private Limited, formerly known as Netmagic IT Services, is a subsidiary of the Japanese IT conglomerate NTT Data.
The deal encompasses two adjoining plots covering approximately 2.4 acres, along with an existing IT park. This acquisition is a strategic move by NTT to expand its data center and cloud infrastructure footprint in India, reinforcing its commitment to investing in the country's rapidly growing digital and IT infrastructure sector.
This transaction significantly boosts the Kapoor family's net worth, highlighting their successful ventures beyond the entertainment industry. Jeetendra's daughter, Ekta Kapoor, runs a thriving media empire through Balaji Telefilms, while his son, Tusshar Kapoor, maintains a foothold in the entertainment industry.
The sale also underscores the increasing demand for prime real estate in Mumbai to develop data centers, driven by the country's rapid digitization and the need for robust digital infrastructure. Other major tech companies, including Amazon and Microsoft, have also made significant investments in Indian data centers, reflecting a broader trend in the industry.
