Governor Ganeshi Lal launched a music video titled ‘Utkal Janani’ at the Raj Bhawan on the occasion of Utkal Diwas on Friday. The music video assumes importance because the Governor has lent his voice to the song.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan attended the launching ceremony as the guest of honour. Among others, Speaker Surya Narayan Patro and internationally acclaimed flautist Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia were present at the function.
While Tarang Music has produced the music video, Prem Anand has scored the music and Bijay Malla penned the song. Besides the Governor, popular singers Humane Sagar and Diptirekha Padhi have rendered their voice.
Heaping praise on music director Prem Anand for finding the singer within him, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal said, “I met Prem Anandji through my PRO. He gave me a hearing while I uttered one or two lines. He found my voice suitable and went ahead. Though I was totally new to the music world, he simplified it for me. And the outcome is worth appreciation.”
Padma Vibhushan awardee Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia also appreciated the music video. “I started my career from Odisha and have performed at numerous musical programmes here. But I have never seen such level of work. All those involved in making the video a success have really proved their talents. It will remain etched in my memory forever,” the maestro said.
Acknowledging the efforts of the entire team, Creative Head of OTV Network, Ranjan Satapathy said. “Initially, I found the proposal of music director Prem Anand to compose a song titled ‘Utkal Janani’ and get it recorded in Governor Ganeshi Lal’s voice unbelievable. But Prem Anand proved me wrong. He did a tremendous job. I am thankful to Prem Anand for the efforts he put in to make the music video a success.”
