Veteran actor Sridevi’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor made her big Bollywood debut with Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. The film was well received by the audience, launching Janhvi and Ishaan’s career in the film industry.
Almost 5 years later, filmmaker Karan Johar has announced a spiritual sequel to the film. However, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan have been replaced by national crush Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan announced, “Yeh Kaahani Hai Thodi Alag, Kyunki Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani – Jaat Alag Thi… Khatam Kahani, Presenting Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 in in cinemas 22nd November 2024.”
Along with the post, Karan Johar also shared a romantic poster of the film that shows Triptii and Siddhant Chaturvedi hugging each other. Touted to be a romantic drama film, the poster has raised anticipation among fans for the film and is expected to repeat the magic of ‘Dhadak’, the official remake of the blockbuster Marathi film ‘Sairat’.
Apart from Dhadak 2, Triptii Dimri has become every director and producer’s favourite after the stupendous success of ‘Animal’. She also has Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, ‘Good Newz’ with Vicky Kaushal and ‘Vicky Aur Vidya Ki Woh Wala Video’ opposite Rajkummar Rao.
She also is going to do a special dance number in stylish star Allu Arjun’s upcoming movie ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
