Rocking Star Yash's highly anticipated film 'Toxic' started filming last week in Bengaluru. Actor Akshay Oberoi has joined the cast and expressed excitement on social media.

Rocking Star Yash’s much-anticipated film ‘Toxic’ officially began filming last week in Bengaluru. Despite previous rumors, the film's muhurtha saw no appearance from the speculated leading ladies—Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, and Huma Qureshi. Neither Yash, who is co-producing the Geetu Mohandas directorial, nor the production banner has confirmed any details about the female leads.

However, the latest addition to the ‘Toxic’ cast which is confirmed is actor Akshay Oberoi, known for his diverse roles in both mainstream cinema and OTT platforms.

Oberoi confirmed his involvement in the project by sharing a photo on social media, expressing his excitement to join the film. He reportedly flew to Bangalore earlier this week to start shooting.

The ‘Toxic’team warmly welcomed Oberoi with a gift hamper and a note that read, "Dear Akshay, Welcome to the team. We're thrilled to have your talent and energy on board for this project. Looking forward to creating something amazing together!" 

A source from the production added, "Oberoi's addition brings an exciting dynamic to the film. He is an actor who always delivers a powerful performance, and his pairing with Yash is highly anticipated by fans."

In addition to ‘Toxic’, Oberoi is also working on his next film, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, alongside Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor.

Meanwhile, coming back to the film, Toxic is helmed by National Award-winning director Geethu Mohandas. Toouted to be an action-packed movie, it set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.

The makers have targeted to release the movie on April 10, 2025.

For the unversed, Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan was locked to play Yash's sister in Toxic, which would have marked her South debut as well. However,  Bebo walked out of the movie and Nayanthara was roped in to play the character. Reportedly, Sai Pallavi was rumoured to play Yash's love interest in the movie. However, Shruti replaced her and will be seen romancing the KGF actor.
