The beloved sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been missing one of its most iconic characters, Dayaben, for years. Played by Disha Vakani, the character’s absence has left fans hopeful for her return. However, producer Asit Kumarr Modi had confirmed that Disha will not be coming back, as she is focused on raising her two young children. While Modi had held out hope for a miracle, reports suggest the makers have already found a new Dayaben.
Well, recently, Disha and Asit reunited, not on the set, but in a warm, personal gathering for Raksha Bandhan.
Disha and Asit Reunite For...
Accompanied by his wife, Neela Modi, Asit visited Disha and her family, including her daughters, to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. The occasion was simple yet heartfelt, filled with traditional rituals, warm conversations, and fond memories.
Asit Modi shared the heartwarming moment on Instagram in which Disha is seen tying him and his wife 'Rakhi' and seeking their blessings. The clip also offered some more glimpses into their warm conversations.
The meeting offered a rare glimpse into their off-screen friendship, proof that relationships built during a long-running show can endure even after the cameras stop rolling.
About the Show
Notably, since Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah premiered in 2008, it has become one of India’s longest-running and most-loved sitcoms. Known for its mix of humour and social messages, the show’s strength lies in its ensemble cast, especially Dilip Joshi’s endearing portrayal of Jethalal, and the vibrant world of Gokuldham Society.
Among its many memorable characters, Disha’s Dayaben, complete with her signature voice, quirky mannerisms, and impeccable comic timing, remains a fan favourite to this day.
