Know 'The Family Man' actor whose wife sold her jewellery for his career

Outsiders with no godfather in the film industry have to struggle a lot to gain even a small role in movies. Hundreds of auditions, tapping the doors of producers eventually help them land a good role. But all through this their family suffers a lot.

Sharib Hashmi known for movies like Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Filmistaan recently revealed his struggle in the film industry and it is quite shocking what he and his family went through during the course.

Talking to a leading media platform the actor revealed that he continuously gave auditions for three years before he finally could get an offer. In such difficult times, his wife stood behind him as a big support and even sold her jewellery so that she could manage the finances necessary for running the day-to-day requirement of the household.

Furthermore, they even had to sell their house to manage the finances so that Sharib Hashmi could continue his struggle in Bollywood.

Prior to trying his luck as an actor, Sharib was working as an in-house writer with MTV. He got married in 2003 and after working for a few years in MTV, he decided to quit the job to become an actor. The decision to quit the job was taken after he was rejected for a role in Dhobi Ghat while earlier he was told that he has been finalised for it.

That is when Sharib became determined that he will definitely become a film actor. But it was a very difficult time for him and his family. The couple had a young child and soon the finances and savings started depleting. In those trying circumstances he even approached friends for loans. It was during this time his wife supported him by selling her jewellery so that they could make ends meet.

Recalling those days, The Family Man famed actor said that there was a time when he was unsure whether he would be able to feed his family meal the next day or not. The actor was last seen in the OTT release Tarla with Huma Qureshi.
